A standard 3.5-mm endotracheal tube (top) and a 3.5-mm Univent tube (Fuji Systems, Tokyo, Japan). The Univent is a single-lumen endotracheal tube with a moveable bronchial blocker that is incorporated into a channel alongside the tube. When compared with a standard 3.5-mm endotracheal tube, the 3.5-mm Univent has an outside diameter of 7.5–8.0 mm, making it equivalent to a standard 5.5 to 6.0-mm endotracheal tube (bottom).
