Chapter 15. Temperature Regulation
- Infant Radiant Warmer – To keep small infants warm during induction, we use a radiant warmer (also called a “french fry light”). The ruler indicates the minimum distance between the light and the infant to prevent burns.
- Heat and Moisture Exchanger – All our circuits contain a heat and moisture exchanger (HME) to conserve humidity and heat from the airway and lungs.
- Anesthesia Circuit Humidifier – For small infants and other children prone to hypothermia, we use an in-line circuit humidifier.
